Rug Design: Custom Dhurrie

"This long staircase leads to the children's bedroom and playroom wing. Safety required that these stairs have a rug of some kind, and it was critical to maintain the look of old kilims that are found throughout the home. A custom designed runner was created, inspired by an antique Russian Avar. There was no way that an antique runner of this size could have ever been found, so custom weaving saved the day."
